According to ESPN, United view the quoted fee as significantly above market value. Even with available resources, the club’s hierarchy is cautious about engaging in a spending battle that could inflate the price further.

The current transfer plan at Old Trafford centres on sustainability. United intend to generate between £80 million and £90 million through player exits, using those funds to secure a key midfield addition. This method is designed to keep the remainder of the budget available for multiple reinforcements across different areas of the squad, including attack and defence.
