RB Leipzig Wonderkid Yan Diomande Draws Interest from Liverpool, Man City, Real Madrid and Barcelona

‎RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, attracting attention from top clubs across the continent. The Ivorian winger, only 18, has already impressed scouts from Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain with his dynamic performances in the Bundesliga.

‎Diomande has registered three goals and three assists in his last three league matches, averaging a direct goal contribution every 89 minutes over ten appearances. This remarkable form comes in his first year in European football, highlighting a rapid adaptation to top-flight competition.
‎The youngster’s professional journey began at age 15 in Abidjan, before making his debut against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu in March 2025 while playing for Leganes. In 2022, Diomande moved to the United States, joining the DME Academy in Florida, where he honed his skills with Yulee High School and United Premier Soccer League side Frenzi. Trials at Celtic further shaped his early career.
‎Diomande openly reflected on his time in the USA, explaining that football’s profile there did not match his aspirations. “I tried out for a few MLS teams like the Colorado Rapids and Charlotte FC, but it didn’t work out,” he told Transfermarkt. “I eventually realised that [the USA] wasn’t quite right for me. Football doesn’t have the same status there as basketball or American football.”
‎Europe’s elite clubs are closely monitoring Diomande’s progress at Leipzig. According to SPORT BILD, scouts frequently attend matches to evaluate his impact in the final third. Leipzig managing director Marcel Schafer emphasized the club’s desire to continue developing the young talent, stating that Diomande has immense potential and is progressing well within their plans.
‎Diomande models his game after some of the world’s most influential players. He has cited Vinicius Junior for his style and Kylian Mbappe for his mindset, while also drawing inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo and notable Ivorian stars such as Gervinho, Yaya Toure, and Max Gradel.
‎Leipzig initially acquired Diomande for €20 million over the summer. With a contract until 2030 and no release clause, the club has now placed a staggering €100 million valuation on the teenager, reflecting both his potential and immediate impact in the Bundesliga.
