Tottenham Sack Igor Tudor After 44 Days as Nottingham Forest Loss Seals Fate

Tottenham have ended Igor Tudor’s brief tenure after only seven matches in charge, concluding a short-lived spell that lasted 44 days. The decision followed a disappointing run of results, with the club hovering dangerously close to relegation.

The former Juventus and Marseille coach had been appointed on February 13 as an interim solution after Thomas Frank’s exit. However, his time in north London failed to deliver improvement, with Spurs struggling to collect points.

Across his five Premier League games, Tudor managed just a single point, earned in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool. His stint also included a Champions League round-of-16 exit, where Tottenham were eliminated 7-5 on aggregate by Atletico Madrid.

With only seven league matches remaining in the 2025–26 season, Tottenham sit just one spot above the relegation zone, separated by a single point. Concern over their league position prompted swift action from the club’s hierarchy.

A statement confirmed the immediate departure of Tudor, along with goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci. The club expressed gratitude for their efforts and acknowledged Tudor’s recent personal loss, offering support to him and his family.

Tottenham are now preparing to appoint a new manager soon. Reports indicate that a replacement could arrive in the coming days, allowing time to prepare for the upcoming fixture against Sunderland on April 12.

Until then, assistant Bruno Saltor will oversee training for players remaining at the club during the international break.

The final blow for Tudor came with a 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, a result that pushed Spurs down to 17th place in the table. His tenure had begun poorly as well, starting with three consecutive defeats against Arsenal, Fulham, and Crystal Palace—matching an unwanted record last seen in 2004.

Tottenham are now searching for their third manager of the season, a scenario they last experienced in 2022–23. Among the names linked with the role is Roberto De Zerbi, though he is reportedly reluctant to take over immediately and has faced opposition from some fan groups due to past controversies.
